It’s never to early to plan your next vacation! We anticipate 2023 will be another fantastic year on Lake St. Clair’s Bouvier Bay. I watched the first ice form over the bay on December 23rd. By December 26th, the fishermen were on the ice! I know I am already counting the days to Spring. The small mouth bass fishing season starts some years as early as mid-April.
We are happy to report that the “New Guest House” is 100% done with many upgrades (e.g. central AC, WiFi, large screen TV with Amazon Fire Stick, larger bedrooms, fully stocked kitchen, bed linen and bath towels included, open floor plan with panoramic view of Bouvier Bay, upper deck, BBQ, fish cleaning station, electrical outlets for boat charging, and access to a shoreline boardwalk with a fire-pit).
The standard rental agreement permits four house guests. The maximum number of house guests allowed is six, with an up-charge for each additional house guest. Attention Ice Fishermen
There is ice on Bouvier Bay. Ice fishermen are setting up their ice shanties, drilling holes in the ice, and pulling up fish. Starting on December 23rd, we had several days with -27 degree nights and it made four to six inches of ice.
You may now rent a fully furnished one bedroom efficiency at BBGH for $100/night with a three night minimum. The bedroom has two twin beds. The kitchen is fully stocked. Occupancy is limited to two adults.
How About a Vacation on a Yacht ?
South Channel Yacht Club
Great location and friendly marina environment with flush toilets and hot showers!. Bring your bikes, fishing poles, and a good book to read. You are on an island! And you will feel like you are in another time and space with miles of roads and waterways to explore. The "School House Restaurant" is a favorite. Boats with 10HP engines are available just down the road.
Harsens Island
A favorite destination dating back to the late 1800s. SCYC is one of the few buildings remaining from the glory days of Harsens Island. Kayaks and canoes give you the best view of these pristine waterways. Fish are plentiful and binoculars will help you to spot the many different species of birds that call Harsens Island home.

Enjoy at dock the comfort of this classic yacht. Full gallery, large salon and aft deck, and the yacht sleeps four. You will have all the comforts of home on this docked "floating cottage" You will use the marina's bathhouse with flush toilets and hot showers. Bring bicycles, kayaks, fishing poles, and a good book to read!
